Tottenham Hotspur could make a late bid to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore.

That’s according to Sky Sports journalist Paul Gilmour, speaking on the Last Word on Spurs podcast.

Gilmour was discussing Tottenham’s options to sign another wide player this summer.

Antonio Conte wants to bring in another winger if Bryan Gil goes out on loan again.

One of the options Spurs are looking at is Adama Traore, who Fabio Paratici is a massive fan of.

The Spanish international is out of favour at Wolves, and hasn’t started a match in the Premier League this season.

He’s unlikely to be first-choice at Spurs, but would offer Conte a unique option off the bench.

Tottenham could make late Traore bid

Speaking on the Last Word on Spurs podcast, Gilmour said: “Adama Traore wouldn’t surprise me, simply because as I mentioned earlier his contract situation.

“The contract’s running down with no sign of an extension.

“He’s got Premier League experience, and he might be happy with that squad role.

“He’ll be coming to play in the Champions League, and there will be game opportunities for (Bryan) Gil, or Traore, or whether it’s (Ruslan) Malinovskyi, or (Yannick) Carrasco, there will be plenty of opportunities to play football.

“It wouldn’t surprise me because of the previous interest, again that’s a similar one to Carrasco, we know for a fact there’s interest in him.”

Traore’s time at Wolves could be over

Signed by Wolves from Middlesbrough for £18m in 2018, Traore has been out of favour at Wolves for some time.

Barcelona signed Traore on a six-month loan in January, but the move wasn’t made permanent.

However, he’s now behind several wide players in the Wolves pecking order.

Traore looks likely to leave Wolves on a free transfer next summer if he’s not sold in this window.

The rapid winger could end up being a bargain for Antonio Conte.

He will likely need to work on his defensive output if he’s going to play as a Tottenham wing-back.

Tottenham have already strengthened their wide options this summer.

Conte has bought Ivan Perisic and Djed Spence this summer to add competition on each wing.

Tottenham also look set to let Sergio Reguilon go as Conte continues to freshened up his squad.
