Sergio Reguilon will undergo a medical on Tuesday as the Tottenham Hotspur star closes in on a loan move to Atletico Madrid, Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter.
Reguilon’s exit has been on the cards for some time. The Spaniard has not featured for Antonio Conte’s side this season following the arrival of Ivan Perisic in the summer.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a host of clubs. Reports claimed that Juventus were keen on a deal for Reguilon. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest also showed interest before landing Renan Lodi.
Of course, Lodi’s departure has left a void in Diego Simeone’s squad. But it would appear that that void is about to be filled by the arrival of Reguilon.

Romano has now reported that an agreement with Atleti has now been reached. And the Tottenham player will head to the Spanish capital to undergo his medical tomorrow.
Here is what Romano has now posted…
Reguilon will undergo medical on Tuesday
Offloading Reguilon could be good news for Tottenham. Obviously, Conte’s side have been incredibly busy this summer. And they may well be content if they fail to sign anyone else before the deadline.
But moving Reguilon on will free up some space on the wage bill. And perhaps, it may open the door for one more late signing if the appetite is there.
And it could be a good move further down the line. Reguilon playing regularly in La Liga should help build his value back up ahead of a potential future sale.
He is a ‘phenomenal‘ player who simply does not appear to be suited to what Conte wants. So there is every chance that he could be an overwhelming success with Atletico.
