Arsenal have had an interesting summer transfer window despite making just one signing, yet things look like they’re about to take off.
Mikel Merino is close to joining Arsenal with Aaron Ramsdale in talks to sign for Wolves, with Eddie Nketiah also strongly linked with Nottingham Forest as the Gunners look to close out a number of deals in the next nine days.
With Arsenal also in talks for Joan Garcia, plenty of activity is happening behind the scenes in the red half of north London, with Mikel Arteta doing everything needed to get his squad as perfect as possible for the new season.
And a Real Madrid player linked with Arsenal could be about to make a surprising decision.

Arsenal target Andriy Lunin ready to lead Real Madrid for free
According to Sport, goalkeeper Andriy Lunin has stated his intention to leave Madrid on a free transfer at the end of this season, with the Ukrainian international set for another year on the bench despite starring last term for Los Blancos.
Arsenal have been linked with Lunin this summer as a potential replacement for Ramsdale, with the 25-year-old goalkeeper showing last season with Madrid that he has the quality to impress between the sticks for the world’s biggest club.
Quoted as ‘world-class’ by Tribuna, Lunin could be quite the no. 2 for Arsenal if Ramsdale does leave for Wolves and the north London side fail to bring in a backup for the England international this summer.
However, such a move could once again cause friction in the goalkeeping department at Arsenal, with Arteta potentially causing a problem that did not need to happen last summer in signing David Raya.

Lunin will want to be a no. 1 for a top European club
Lunin showed last season for Madrid that he be a starting keeper for any top club in Europe, with the Ukraine star playing a massive role for Los Blancos in their route to a record 15th UEFA Champions League title.
And whilst Arsenal would be a good move for Lunin, there’s no telling how Arteta will treat the 25-year-old keeper, especially given the backdrop of everything that’s happened to Ramsdale in the last 12 months.
As a result, Lunin should be looking to join a team where he will be the clear no. 1, with the young shot-stopper good enough to be a starter for the majority of top teams around Europe in the years to come.
