Arsenal have seen Bukayo Saka become one of the club’s very best players and other Hale End youngsters will dream of emulating him.
The Gunners saw Bukayo Saka break through nearly five years ago and he has hardly looked bad since.
Not everybody coming through at Arsenal can go on that path to stardom though and we have seen that play out this summer.
Arsenal have sold Emile Smith Rowe to Fulham and Eddie Nketiah is nearing a move to Nottingham Forest.
Charlie Patino is joining Deportivo La Coruna and Brooke Norton-Cuffy has signed for Genoa, so we are seeing proof of how difficult the pathway from Arsenal academy to first-team stardom has become.
Arsenal will always have exciting talents emerging though and Max Dowman is attracting attention at a very young age.

Arsenal scout on Max Dowman
Dowman doesn’t turn 15 until December but has already played Premier League 2 action with real aplomb.
Dowman has notched two goals and five assists in the Under-18 Premier League despite playing against more experienced players.
The attacking midfielder has already trained with Mikel Arteta’s first team and is being backed for a huge future having already emerged on Arteta’s radar.
David Ornstein noted in March that Dowman is viewed as a top talent inside Arsenal.
Arsenal youth scout Joe Black has now told Rising Ballers that Dowman is ‘doing very well’ with his development at Hale End.
Black added that Dowman is ‘making a lot of noise’ right now having played above his age range.
Black also praised two Arsenal wins who are showing promise, which is seemingly referring to Kaleab and Yabsera Meron.
“There’s a few, at Under-14s there’s a kid called Max Dowman, he’s doing very well,” said Black. “He’s making a lot of noise at the moment, he’s playing Under-18’s football. There’s also two twin brothers, I think they’ve made a few headlines as well but it’s difficult to forecast where they will be,” he added.
Projecting future success is difficult, as Black notes, but it’s clear that Dowman is turning heads at this stage in his development.
Dowman excitement already building around Arsenal
Dowman is only 14 and he will go through many ups and downs in the coming years.
It’s easy to forget the buzz around Patino but he is now heading to the Spanish second tier, so Arsenal fans must be patient with Dowman.
Still, the excitement around Dowman has been building for a while now.
Jeremie Aliadiere has praised Dowman as an ‘absolute standout’ in the Arsenal academy and Jack Wilshere hailed him in September 2023, as quoted by The Mirror.
Dowman will hope to become the next Saka in terms of becoming a first-team star at Arsenal but there his plenty of hard work ahead for the teenager.
