The Arsenal academy has produced many top talents over the years, and there are quite a few coming through the ranks now as well.

For instance, Arsenal trio Ethan Nwaneri, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Amario Cozier-Duberry are three who look like they have a bright future ahead of them.

Further down the age pyramid, there’s one player who is apparently being spoken of as a future star, namely Max Dowman.

At just 14 years of age, the young midfielder has frequently played above his age group in the Arsenal academy.

Earlier this season, Dowman appeared as a second-half substitute in a Under-18 Premier League clash aged just 13.

As per the Daily Mail, Dowman also scored twice and provided three assists for Arsenal’s Under-16s in a 14-3 win over their Liverpool counterparts in November.

Now, David Ornstein has revealed that the youngster is a player being talked about “a hell of a lot” at Hale End and London Colney.

The journalist said on The Athletic FC Podcast: “Tou get to very promising emerging talents like Max Dowman, who is being talked about a hell of a lot around the club.

“Full respect to his age and developmental challenges that will come but there is huge optimism around that.”

Max Dowman looks like a top talent for Arsenal

Obviously caution should be exercised regarding the potential of a player so young, as it’s a long way from the youth ranks to the first team.

However, when you get a 14-year-old player impressing at Under-16 level and already featuring for the Under-18s, that’s not something you see every day.

It’ll be exciting to see how Dowman continues to develop in the coming years. If all goes well, perhaps he may follow a similar pathway to Ethan Nwaneri.

And if by, say 16-17 years of age he’s already featuring for the Under-21s and gets called up to senior training, then it’ll be a great sign.
