Wolves fans warn selling Arsenal target Ruben Neves will lead to riots

Wolves fans made it clear that the club must not think about selling Arsenal target Ruben Neves in their final home game of the season, with Birmingham Live noting that the supporters suggested that there would be riots if he moves on.

Neves looks to be one player who could leave Molineux in the coming months. The Portuguese has spent the large part of his career at Wolves. And he has proved to be an unbelievable signing for the club.

But perhaps he may feel that the time is right to move on. He is attracting attention, with previous reports noting that Arsenal and Barcelona have confirmed their interest in signing him.

Arsenal may well now make a move. But if Neves’ future is decided by the Wolves supporters, they may face a huge battle to lure him away.

Wolves played their final home game of the campaign on Sunday, drawing with Norwich. And during the contest, the fans made it clear that they want Neves going nowhere.

Birmingham Live reports that they chanted: “Don’t sell Neves, Ruben Neves, I just don’t think you understand, if you sell Neves, Ruben Neves, you’ll have riots on your hands.”

Wolves selling Ruben Neves seems possible if Arsenal or another admirer makes big offer

Of course, the board are unlikely to make any rash decisions off the back of what the fans were chanting. They will have known that selling him would likely be an unpopular move. He is a ‘sensational‘ player. Bruno Lage has previously spoken of him being worth £100 million.

But they will surely be prepared for all eventualities, including letting him go. They will have a price in mind that will lead to his departure if Arsenal or another club offers it.
