Liverpool have enjoyed a productive start to the new Premier League season under the stewardship of Arne Slot.

Arne Slot’s men currently reside in second place, just one point adrift of the league leaders Manchester City – who are still unbeaten.

The Dutchman’s calm approach has impressed supporters and figures in the media, though, Mohamed Salah was totally convinced initially.

In fact, Salah thought one thing that Slot did was crazy.

Mohamed Salah thought Arne Slot’s demands were crazy

According to De Telegraaf journalist Marcel van der Kraan, via Voetball, Salah thought Slot’s demands were crazy initially.

“Salah was cursing in the summer about all that Slot wanted from him,” van der Kraan said.

“You’re crazy,’ Salah said at one point. That was about the intensity Slot demands, what all the strikers have to do in terms of work. I heard this from guys who were at that training camp.”

Evidently, Slot’s high demands are working for the Egyptian wide player as he’s already netted eight times whilst laying on seven assists in 13 outings so far this season.

Incredible numbers.

Slot gave Darwin Nunez a lifeline

The Dutch journalist also added that Darwin Nunez was completely written off by Jurgen Klopp until Slot arrived, who identified him as a key player due to his running ability.

“Nunez had been written off by Jürgen Klopp, but the first thing Slot saw: that boy can run. I need that for chasing down opponents. That’s something that Núñez can do wonderfully,” Van der Kraan said.

“You saw Nunez laying a fantastic ball for Salah [against Arsenal]. Those two strikers Slot has been so busy with in the summer do make sure he plays evenly.”

The Liverpool boss appears to have got the best out of Luis Diaz, too, so it’s clear just how influential his coaching is.

In fact, Liverpool wanted to appoint Slot because of his track record of improving players, which is already bearing fruit.
