A number of Aston Villa fans have commented on reports from the Daily Mirror claiming that Burnley striker Chris Wood is a transfer target for the Villans this summer.

Villa have already made the first major statement of the window. Of course, it was the Villans who landed Emi Buendia from Norwich City.

And it is little surprise that some of their focus has now switched to signing a new striker.

According to the Daily Mirror, Dean Smith’s side are battling West Ham and Everton for Wood.

The 29-year-old scored 12 goals in the Premier League this past season. He continued his superb run of reaching double figures in each of the years he has spent in the top flight with the Clarets.

Burnley are not planning to let Wood leave on the cheap. According to the Mirror, they want over £25 million for him.

And that price is seemingly putting a lot of Villa fans off a potential switch.

They have also been linked with Tammy Abraham this summer. And some have suggested that he would be a better addition.

Others have insisted that they would be happy to have Wood join. He would certainly give Smith the option to change things up if he arrived to rival Ollie Watkins.
