'We've seen his emergence': Ian Wright says one Arsenal player has proved everyone wrong
Arsenal legend Ian Wright has claimed that Aaron Ramsdale can now laugh at people who wrote him off when he joined the Gunners last summer.
The Englishman has arguably been the signing of the season. He has been brilliant for Arsenal and is one of the biggest reasons why the Gunners are even close to the Champions League places.
Arsenal fans absolutely love Ramsdale now, but things were very different at the start of the season. Almost every supporter was against the idea of signing him; very few people believed he had what it takes to deliver at the top level.
Now, it’s safe to say that Ramsdale has proved everyone wrong, and Wright has claimed that the Englishman can look at his critics and laugh at them having proved them all wrong.

Ian Wright says Ramsdale can now laugh at everyone who criticised him
The legendary English striker told Premier League Productions, as quoted by The Mirror: “Aaron Ramsdale, when he went to Arsenal, he was kind of ridiculed. They said, “Oh, he had two relegations”, which I can’t see as a negative when you are young.
“He has come in there. We have seen his emergence. He has been very, very swift – and he’s playing with him [Pickford for England] on a regular basis, that will make him understand, “Yeah, I am playing with a top keeper. I need to get myself in order.
“Aaron Ramsdale seems to express it [his emotions] with more fun, whereas Jordan Pickford, you probably put it down to, he does get a lot of criticism.
“Whereas Aaron Ramsdale, he can now look at people and laugh at them because he was written off to a certain extent. He can now have a laugh at his own expense and a laugh with the fans because he is more relaxed with the way he is playing.”
A lot was said about Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta when he decided to sign Ramsdale from Sheffield United last summer. Almost every pundit told him not to, but the Spaniard stood firm and went ahead with the deal.
We’re just a day away from the end of the season now, and Arteta can hold his head up and say he made the right decision.
Ramsdale has been absolutely unbelievable for Arsenal. He has saved them on multiple occasions, and although he isn’t quite on the level of Ederson and Alisson just yet, he has shown that he has the potential to get there in the coming years.
Arsenal take on Everton at the Emirates tomorrow and even though Bernd Leno would love a farewell appearance, we expect Ramsdale to continue in goal.
