Benjamin Sesko scored his second Manchester United goal in last weekend’s victory over Sunderland.
In eight matches, the Slovenian has scored two goals for Man United, both of which have come in the Premier League.
Following his arrival at Old Trafford, Ruben Amorim has appeared keen to protect Benjamin Sesko from too much pressure, too soon.
Sesko tried to avoid taking a penalty against Grimsby Town in the EFL Cup, and it’s no slight on the striker if he was feeling slightly overawed by the move to United.
Analysing his debut, Ian Wright was excited by the first glimpses of Sesko in a United shirt, but it’s clearly going to take some time before the 22-year-old is firing on all cylinders.
Wayne Rooney thinks Ruben Amorim is now helping Benjamin Sesko succeed
That being said, United legend Wayne Rooney has now discussed Sesko’s latest performance against Sunderland.
Speaking on ‘The Wayne Rooney Show’, the striker described Sesko as a ‘handful’.
And Rooney also shared his belief that Amorim was slightly adjusting his tactics, much to the team’s benefit.

Rooney said: “I think he’s a handful. He uses his body well, challenges for balls, and it makes it easier for Mbeumo and Cunha when he’s on the ball to make runs in behind him.
“I think that’s clearly something they’ve worked on, and obviously, getting another goal will help him.
“Sesko has been good at winning headers in the air and then running in behind him. So I actually thought Manchester United got the tactics right yesterday.
“I think Amorim slightly changed his tactics and went with two forwards up top and it worked certainly for the first 30 minutes.”
Senne Lammens’ United debut also gets Wayne Rooney’s verdict
In addition to those comments, Rooney also spoke about new United goalkeeper Senne Lammens’ debut for the club.
Luke Shaw has been impressed by Lammens in United training recently and his performance against Sunderland demonstrated why.
Discussing his debut, Rooney said: “Listen. I think the keeper did well. He obviously had the misjudgment where he’s come out the box and that could end up a different way.
“But I thought in the main he simplified things which for a keeper is not a bad thing. He didn’t take too many touches on the ball, got the ball forward quickly and it was effective.”
United ended on a much-needed positive note before the international break, and Amorim will certainly have more work to do once club football resumes.
