Luke Shaw has been left thoroughly impressed with the transfer business conducted at Manchester United this summer.
The Red Devils completely revamped their attacking options at Old Trafford, with Benjamin Sesko’s £74 million arrival from RB Leipzig completing a summer rebuild of the front line.
Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo were signed from Wolves and Brentford, respectively, before the acquisition of the Slovenian, who has yet to start a match.
Manchester United claimed their first three points of the campaign heading into the international break, as Bruno Fernandes’ 97th-minute penalty secured a 3-2 win against Burnley.

However, while the attacking additions have stolen the limelight at Old Trafford, Shaw has revealed United’s deadline day signing has been particularly impressive.
Luke Shaw has been impressed with Senne Lammens
In an interview with Sky Sports, Shaw revealed that Man United’s £18m signing Senne Lammens has immediately impressed him upon his arrival at Carrington.
“I think us as players, it’s really important to help settle in new players. Um, yeah, he’s been really good. He’s trained, you know, a couple of days, looks really sharp. I’ve been really impressed with him.
“So, you know, that’s good. It’s always good, like I said, to have new additions. And, you know, I’m really looking forward to playing with him.”
Ruben Amorim faced a tough dilemma on deadline day when pursuing a new shot-stopper, as TBR Football exclusively reported Man United felt signing Emi Martinez was “too complicated”.
The 23-year-old is viewed as the long-term solution to a problem position at Old Trafford – Andre Onana has proven to be massively underwhelming and has now completed a loan move to Turkish Super Lig outfit Trabzonspor.
Indeed, Man United let in far too many cheap goals in the 2024/25 campaign, which saw the 15th-placed side concede 54 goals throughout the season.
Lammens caught the attention of the decision-makers in Manchester with his displays for Royal Antwerp last season, as he kept seven clean sheets in 41 outings, saving 81% of his shots faced.
Ruben Amorim confirms Altay Bayindir will start vs Manchester City
While Lammens has seemingly hit the ground running in training at the Red Devils, the supporters will have to wait a little while longer to see their new goalkeeper in action.
Amorim confirmed in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Manchester derby that Altay Bayindir will continue in goal at the Etihad.
“It’s the same thing that I do with different positions. Of course, it’s not the same, but Altay is going to continue because it’s a different league, it’s a different country, trainings, ball, so we try to maintain that and they will fight for the position. So, for me, it’s clear, Altay will start.
“I think sometimes it’s to connect, even with Andre, we saw Andre Onana did a very, very good season in Inter. The quality is there, but we are in the club, sometimes in the moment, things are getting harder and harder and you can be really experienced, but in this club, sometimes the pressure is so hard in every detail, sometimes you need a change. So, we believe in our goalkeepers, I believe in Altay, he’s ready to play and he’s going to play.”
