Gabriel Agbonlahor has predicted Aston Villa youngster Jacob Ramsey to one day be in England’s senior squad after Ezri Konsa’s call-up earlier this week.
Speaking on TalkSport, the pundit urged Gareth Southgate to select more Villa players in future teams, with Agbonlahor naming Ramsey as a player that the England manager should be considering.
The former striker said: “He’s got to start picking more Villa players. When Jacob Ramsey gets fit again, come and watch him more, he’s another one who will break into that squad.”

Ramsey has spent most of the season out through injury, though when fit, the 22-year-old has established himself as a key part of Villa’s first-team plans.
The midfielder exploded onto the scene in Steven Gerrard’s underwhelming reign at the club, and there’s every chance that Ramsey could become a full England international once back to full fitness.
Indeed, the midfielder offers something a lot of players in his position simply can’t do, and England can benefit massively from a player of Ramsey’s unique abilities.
Ramsey could become Villa’s next England superstar

With Konsa now a part of the Three Lions set-up alongside Ollie Watkins, there’s no real reason why Ramsey couldn’t become the next Villa player to become an England international.
The youngster has starred for the home nation for the U-21s and has shown in the Premier League that he has the potential to become an outstanding player.
And for Ramsey, playing for Southgate’s England would feel like a natural progression in his career, with the midfielder good enough to star for the European giants on the international stage.
Moreover, with the likes of Jordan Henderson and Kalvin Phillips losing their reputations, Ramsey could be an easy successor for the pair in 2024.
