Despite back to back defeats in the Premier League, Nicolas Pepe, Thomas Partey and other Arsenal players are in high spirits, and the mood at London Colney looks like it’s a happy one.
The Gunners have been brilliant in 2022 and found themselves in a fantastic position in the top four race. They were the absolute favourites to get there just over a week ago, but back to back defeats has made things difficult now.
However, Arsenal have no time to sulk. They just have to keep going and Mikel Arteta will be hoping that his side can bounce back when they face Southampton on Saturday.
After training today, Pepe decided to have a little fun with Partey, who is sadly injured at the moment.
Nicolas Pepe pulls off hilarious prank on Thomas Partey after Arsenal training
Nicolas Pepe posted a video on his Instagram Stories after training at London Colney today.
The Ivorian, who can barely get a game these days, looks like he’s still happy at Arsenal, but his happiness today came at the expense of Partey, who left his bag unattended in the locker room.
In the video, Pepe is seen taking multiple spoons of protein powder and emptying them into Partey’s bag. “1-1” he wrote as a caption, hinting that this a revenge for a previous prank.

Partey’s injury is a huge blow
Partey has been absolutely magnificent for Arsenal this season. He has arguably been the Gunners’ best player in 2022 and almost every time he started a game, he dominated.
Against Crystal Palace at the start of last week, Partey felt something in his right thigh and had to hobble off the pitch. It was revealed that he had suffered a significant injury, which will keep him out of the side for a while.
That is a massive blow for the Gunners and his absence proved to be disastrous for them against Brighton last weekend. Arsenal just didn’t have control in midfield without their star Ghanaian, and that is a worry going forward.
It will be interesting to see who Arteta will go with in Arsenal’s midfield against Southampton this weekend, but it just won’t be the same for the North Londoners without Partey bossing the game from the middle of the park.
