The transfer deadline is almost upon us, and Spurs still have some unfinished business to tend to.
Tottenham are still looking for an energetic midfield player, but after spending more than £100m this summer, the budget may not be there for Spurs to go out and splash the cash.
Now, a bargain option has come onto the table, and this could be a move that is right up Tottenham’s street.

Tottenham interested in Josh Brownhill
According to GiveMeSport, Tottenham are among the clubs interested in signing Josh Brownhill.
Brownhill was recently relegated with Burnley, but, as we know, Spurs don’t mind picking up recently relegated talents.
Tottenham have already signed Wilson Odobert from the Clarets this summer, and Spurs have seemingly been long-term admirers of this Burnley team.
Indeed, Spurs actually considered hiring Vincent Kompany directly from Burnley last summer before Ange Postecoglou, so there’s reason to believe Spurs do like this Burnley side and a lot of their players.
Brownhill certainly ticks the box of being an energetic midfield player, while he’s also available for just £5m, so this could be a real bargain buy to add some depth.
Factor in that Brownhill will also help Spurs towards their homegrown quota in the Premier League, and this begins to look like a smart move.
What Josh Brownhill has said about Tottenham
Interestingly, Josh Brownhill has spoken about Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou before.
After Burnley lost 5-2 to Spurs last year, Brownhill was full of praise for this Spurs side.
“We had some good spells and did well to get ourselves 1-0 ahead. But you know they’re a very good team with some very good players, and when they get chances they take them,” Brownhill said.
Brownhill clearly liked what he saw from Tottenham at times last season, and now, he may get the chance to play for Ange Postecoglou’s side.
Brownhill may well end up being Spurs’ final signing of the transfer window.
