Tottenham transfer news: Paratici sends message after Pape Matar Sarr phone call
Tottenham Hotspur have plenty of decisions to make on their young players this month.
Antonio Conte wants first-team recruits, but knows he still needs bodies in the squad.
Conte is desperate to bring in another attacker and a right wing-back.
Dejan Kulusevski suffered another setback after the World Cup, and the Swede is too important not to have a quality back-up.
Meanwhile, Conte has not been impressed with Tottenham’s options on the right this season.
Emerson Royal could now be on his way out of the club, and Matt Doherty and Djed Spence have failed to convince.
One youngster who Conte has only just started putting his faith in is Pape Matar Sarr.
The £14m midfielder made his debut this month, and has now appeared in each of Tottenham’s last three games.
Il Mattino report that sporting director Fabio Paratici made a phone call with Salernitana about Sarr last night.
However, he delivered the bad news to the Serie A side that he won’t be leaving this month.
Paratici holds Sarr phone call
The report suggests that Salernitana are desperate to bring Sarr in during the January window on a loan deal.
However, Paratici has had to rebuff their approaches as Sarr has a part of play in the second half of the season.
Antonio Conte has previously admitted he’s a big fan of the Senegalese international.
Even though opportunities have been hard to come by for Sarr, he’s finally been given his chance this month.
It would be the biggest game of his relatively short Tottenham career.
After Paratici dimissed the chance for Sarr to leave Tottenham after his call with Salernitana, he’ll be hoping the minutes keep coming.
The worst thing that can happen to the 20-year-old is the window shutting and then finding himself out of the reckoning once again.
