Tottenham target Ward-Prowse dominates Southampton Player Awards
Tottenham target James Ward-Prowse has further proved why he is on the radar of Antonio Conte by producing a near clean-sweep at the Southampton end of season awards on Tuesday.
Ward-Prowse has enjoyed potentially his best campaign yet for the Saints. Certainly, he has already achieved his best tally yet in the Premier League, with nine strikes to his name already.
Unsurprisingly, a number of those goals have been absolute stunners. And the captain has played a crucial role in ensuring that Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men are all but across the line in the battle to stay up.

Reports have claimed that Tottenham want Ward-Prowse. Spurs are apparently long-time admirers of the 27-year-old England international.
And they may have received further encouragement to make a move for the midfielder this summer.
Southampton held their Player Awards on Tuesday. And Ward-Prowse won three of the four honours available to the men’s first-team squad.
He was named Fans’ and Players’ Player of the Year, while he also won Goal of the Season for his remarkable strike at Wolves.
Tottenham target Ward-Prowse could be an amazing signing
It has not been a good season for Southampton. There is still a tiny possibility that they could be relegated. But Ward-Prowse has been a shining light.
Ward-Prowse has been in ‘fantastic’ form for the Saints. And Tottenham probably need a midfielder who could make a devastating impact in the final third.
Harry Kane and Son Heung-min are the only Tottenham players to have scored more than Ward-Prowse this season.
His haul of three awards highlights that he is probably at the peak of his powers. He certainly would not come cheap. But Tottenham would surely be wise to target Ward-Prowse when the transfer window opens in the near future.
