Tottenham-supporting pundit compares Spurs target Sofyan Amrabat to N'Golo Kante
Tottenham Hotspur fan and talkSPORT pundit Darren Ambrose has hailed Morocco’s World Cup star Sofyan Amrabat, amid claims Spurs want to sign him in January.
The £26m midfield powerhouse has always been a good player, but his performances for his country in Qatar have made him a wanted man, with rumours linking him with a move to Tottenham, Liverpool and even Newcastle United.
Now, he has been likened to a World Cup, Premier League and Champions League winner – N’Golo Kante.

Morocco were this year’s surprise package at the World Cup. Not many people expected them to even get out of their group, let alone make it all the way into the semi-final of the competition.
The whole team and their manager, Walid Regragui, deserve immense praise for what they achieved in Qatar, but it has to be said that their best player was Amrabat.
The 26-year-old, who plays his club football in Italy with Fiorentina, was absolutely outstanding, and he ranked number one on Ambrose’s five ‘hidden pearls’ of this year’s World Cup list.
The pundit said on talkSPORT last night: “I’m going to start with Sofyan Amrabat – he’ll be on everyone’s top five in terms of what he’s done. He’s in a similar mould to Kante, in my opinion.
“I think he’s been outstanding. The tackle on Mbappe the other day was sensational. He has shown now that he can compete at the top level and I think he’ll want to prove that even more.”
Amrabat will enter the final 18 months of his contract in January, but Fiorentina have an option to extend his deal by a year.

Amrabat has always attracted interest from top teams.
Just last year, as we headed into the January transfer window, he was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham. Towards the end of the window, it was even claimed that he was ‘waiting’ to join Spurs.
However, unfortunately for him, a move did not materialise as Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici brought in Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus instead.
In the upcoming January transfer window, however, there’s a very big chance that Amrabat will leave Fiorentina. A bunch of Premier League clubs, including Tottenham, are reportedly keen, and it would be very interesting to see where he’ll end up.
