Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with Juventus ace Samuel Iling-Junior in recent weeks.

Speculation is now intensifying ahead of the January transfer window and it looks positive as far as Spurs are concerned.

For instance, the Evening Standard recently reported that Tottenham are now leading the race to sign the out-of-favour winger.

More recently, Calciomercato.it reported that the Serie A giants actively ‘want to sell’ Iling-Junior.

He is apparently ‘no longer being considered’ by Max Allegri and ‘on the margins’ of the team.

Now, Corriere dello Sport have issued another update which bodes well for Tottenham in their pursuit of Iling-Junior.

Apparently, Juve have instructed agents to investigate enquiries from Spurs about the 20-year-old talent.

However, Tottenham are not the only Premier League club eyeing Iling-Junior. The intermediaries are reportedly set to speak with other English outfits too.

And in terms of price tag, Spurs – or any other suitors – could be looking to pay €20million, or £17million, for Iling-Junior’s services.

Tottenham will fancy chances of signing Samuel Iling-Junior

Tottenham will surely fancy their chances of signing Iling-Junior in the January transfer window.

Normally, clubs don’t want to let go of their main players and risk sabotaging their season. So unless clubs have financial issues and have to sell, fringe players are the ones likely to go in January.

However, you do get those cases where a player is a top talent but just doesn’t seem to fit the system at a club and, as such, they’ll make him available to move.

Iling-Junior is just 20 years old, incredibly talented with a high ceiling, versatile and has English football experience. He has been deemed an ‘assist machine‘, which is never a bad thing.

In addition, he seems keen on a return to the Premier League, his contract’s up in 2025, his club appears open to selling, and Spurs could end up paying less than £20million.

All in all, Iling-Junior to Tottenham seems like a no-brainer. Let’s hope Spurs can get a move over the line and overcome the competition.
