Amid a fairly positive start to the January transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur fans may now have been dealt a slight blow.
Ange Postecoglou is said to be prioritising the arrival of a centre-back in the coming weeks.

However, Tottenham are also thought to want to add a midfielder and a forward in the January transfer window.
Radu Dragusin now seems likely to be the centre-back that Spurs add to their side, with staff at the club now confident of a successful deal.
That being said, it seems Tottenham won’t be pursuing a target many considered to be an excellent fit.
According to a report by TeamTalk, Tottenham will not pursue a deal for former Celtic forward Jota in the January transfer window.
Postecoglou had been linked with a reunion with Jota at Spurs, however this information says he won’t join in January.
It’s understood that £25m Jota is in dialogue with a few top clubs, making an exit from Al-Ittihad seem very likely.
Therefore, it’ll certainly be interesting to consider who Tottenham may target with their interest clearly elsewhere.
Tottenham won’t pursue a deal for Jota in the January transfer window
Perhaps Spurs may be focusing their attention on the signing of a midfielder this month.
Conor Gallagher is a player the side have been interested in since the summer according to reports.

However, it now seems as if Tottenham will hit a dead end if they do ramp up their efforts.
There’s little doubt that Ange Postecoglou and Daniel Levy will have a list of potential candidates ready to go.
However, that is currently being kept pretty tight to their chest as they navigate a very difficult transfer window.
Tottenham obviously need additions, and could struggle to achieve the desired value if they attempt too much in the January transfer window.
That being said, Spurs have now been linked with an audacious move for a Serie A star who would shake up their attacking line.
It’s certainly going to be interesting to watch this month unfold, but it now seems fairly certain that Jota won’t be part of the drama.
