Report: Tottenham now hoping 'incredible' £22m player will follow Bissouma to Hotspur Way
Tottenham Hotspur have sealed the signing of Yves Bissouma today and are now hoping they can add Torino defender, Gleison Bremer, as well.
Bremer has emerged as a target for Antonio Conte after it became more and more apparent that Alessandro Bastoni might be out of Tottenham’s reach this summer. The Inter Milan ace is set to stay in Serie A, and Bremer is now next on the list for Fabio Paratici.
And now, according to The Mirror, Tottenham will make a move for Bremer – valued at around the £22m mark – as they look to follow up on the signing of Bissouma.
Bremer, who has been described as an ‘incredible‘ player, is also wanted by Inter Milan as well. However, with the Italian club keeping Bastoni, there is less pressure from their end to pursue the Torino man.
For Tottenham and Paratici, following up the impressive capture of Bissouma will be crucial. It’s been a good start to the summer window for the club, but more signings are needed to pacify Conte.
Bremer is capable of playing in a back three or back two and is seen as one of the better defenders in Serie A.
TBR’s View: Gleison Bremer Would Be Brilliant With Romero At Tottenham
The thought of a back three of Romero, Dier and Bremer is something Tottenham fans can really get behind.
All three are quality in their own right and it would give Conte the perfect platform to build on. Having a solid back line will allow his more impressive attacking players to really go and win games for the team.
Bremer, at just £22m or so, is a real snip in the modern market. When you think the club paid over £50m for Romero, this really does seem to be a no-brainer transfer.
