Tottenham Hotspur continue to be linked with a number of attacking players ahead of the summer transfer window.
Although Spurs signed Timo Werner on loan – and it looks as though there’s a good possibility they’ll buy him – there’s still scope to bring in yet more attacking reinforcements.
Tottenham reportedly have a £15million option to sign Werner permanently from RB Leipzig, which won’t make much of a dent in their summer budget.
One player Spurs are apparently monitoring ahead of the summer is Joshua Zirkzee, who has been doing very well for Serie A high-flyers Bologna.
Corriere dello Sport has now published an update on the 22-year-old’s future, reiterating that Ange Postecoglou‘s Tottenham are among his suitors.

The report (21/3/24, pg 18) claimed that Spurs, as well as Arsenal and Manchester United, all have a ‘strong’ interest in Zirkzee.
AC Milan are also said to be eyeing the Dutchman, while Bayern Munich, who sold him to Bologna, have a €40million (£34.3million) buyback clause.
The likes of Tottenham, the Gunners and the Red Devils can apparently expect a much higher fee.
Corriere says Bologna want between €60-70million (£51.5-60million), but ‘that number could increase if Premier League clubs come into play’.
Tottenham one of several elite clubs eyeing Joshua Zirkzee
Needless to say, Spurs – and the other suitors save for Bayern – won’t be getting Zirkzee for cheap this summer.
However, even £60million – if it stays at that price – would still be about right for a 22-year-old player who has proven himself at a very high level.
Zirkzee has registered 11 goals and six assists in 30 Bologna outings this season, helping the Rossoblu challenge for a Champions League place next term.
Strong and physical at 6ft 4in tall, Zirkzee’s ability on the ball has seen Torino boss Ivan Juric compare him to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
There have also been comparisons between the ‘extraordinary‘ reported Tottenham target and Dennis Bergkamp.
Former Italy international Francesco Graziani is quoted as saying by Bologna Sport News in December: “Technically he is very good and has shown that he sees the goal.
“In Zirkzee I seem to see the Dutch Dennis Bergkamp: someone who made your eyes shine with his technique.”
