Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United are trying to sign Joshua Zirkzee in the January transfer window.
That is according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, who has reported Bologna’s stance on a potential deal.
So, what has been reported about Manchester United and Joshua Zirkzee? Let’s take a look.
Manchester United want to sign Joshua Zirkzee
Well, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are interested in signing Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna in the January transfer window.
Plettenberg has reported on X that United are keen on a deal for Zirkzee in the summer of 2024, but the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners have “already inquired” about a possible deal in January.
Serie A club Bologna have turned it down. The Italian outfit have decided that they will not sell the 22-year-old striker, who is rated highly.
Bologna manager Thiago Motta has previously described Zirkzee as “a player with extraordinary qualities” who is “very talented”.
My View: Manchester United could struggle to sign Joshua Zirkzee in 2024 summer
In my opinion, Manchester United could struggle to get a deal done for Joshua Zirkzee in the summer of 2024.

Yes, United could easily afford the striker’s release clause, but they could find it difficult to convince him to make the move to Old Trafford given the other clubs who are interested in him.
Newcastle United are interested in Zirkzee, while Arsenal have also been linked. The Gunners could win the Premier League title this season or at least end up in the UEFA Champions League, so they could be more appealing than Manchester United.
Zirkzee has made 18 starts and one substitute appearance in Serie A for Bologna this season. He has scored seven goals and given two assists in those games.
The young Dutch forward scored two goals and gave two assists in five starts and 14 substitute appearances in the league for Bologna last season.
