Tottenham fans react as club reportedly eye Manchester United attacker

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial this summer. The signing of Jadon Sancho has pushed Martial down the pecking order at Old Trafford. Tottenham are keen, and Spurs fans have responded to the news on Twitter.

Martial, 25, only managed 27 starts last season despite Manchester United reaching the final of the Europa League. He only started 17 of a possible 38 Premier League matches, as he slipped behind the likes of Marcus Rashford and Edinson Cavani in the attacking pecking order.

Now, Sancho has reduced his chances of game time even more. A 4-2-3-1 system that sees Sancho and Rashford either side of Bruno Fernandes behind Cavani is likely to be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s thinking. Martial’s chances of game time, then, depend on Cavani’s fitness and form.

What are Tottenham fans saying about Martial?

The Daily Star say Tottenham are keen but United will want to get the £50million they paid Monaco back. Also, his £250,000-a-week wages will throw a spanner in the works. Tottenham fans have discussed the possible signing of Martial – and many believe he would be a good addition.

With Gareth Bale leaving, Spurs do need additions in the final third. While Bryan Gil is expected to sign, he is directly replacing Erik Lamela – who is involved in the same deal.
