Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly leading the race to sign Barcelona talent Ilaix Moriba this summer – and Spurs fans have reacted on Twitter.

Moriba, 18, is regarded as one of the most-exciting teenage talents in Spanish football at the moment. It comes after 18 senior outings for Barca.

But TMW claim that Moriba has rejected a new contract at Barcelona. His current deal expires in less than 12 months, and clubs are now interested.

Barcelona are in need of cash and could sanction a sale before Tuesday. The TMW report claims Chelsea and Leipzig are keen – but Spurs are on pole.

Mundo Deportivo continued the story, reporting that a bid is expected in the coming hours from Spurs. Moriba is rated at £17million by Barcelona.

What are Tottenham fans saying about Barcelona talent Moriba?

The teenager has enormous talent, but Tottenham are also close to the signing of Pape Sarr from Metz. A very similar player.

Sarr will stay at Metz on loan for the 21-22 season, but there is no confirmation as of yet. Much like Moriba, Sarr is a teenage midfielder.

Both players are likely to cost similar fees, and both have game time under their belts despite being 18 years of age. So, do Spurs need both?

It wouldn’t hurt. With Moussa Sissoko expected to join Watford, and both Harry Winks and Tanguy Ndombele linked with an exit, they provide depth.

Here is what Tottenham fans think of the potential signing of Barcelona talent Moriba on Twitter. Many believe he would be a stunning addition.
