Tottenham Hotspur are set to make a bid for Barcelona’s Ilaix Moriba in the ‘next hours’, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Bid incoming
Tottenham had barely been linked with Moriba at all, but all of a sudden last night – it was claimed that the player was ready to move to North London.
With Spurs now having optimism that a deal can be done, they are apparently set to launch their first bid for him imminently.
Moriba’s contractual situation at Barcelona means that his future is in serious doubt.
The 18-year-old showed real promise last term, when he made a sizeable number of appearances in Barca’s first-team.
But with the Catalan club in such desperate financial trouble, agreeing a contract with him has proven difficult.
As such Moriba only has a year left on his current deal, and Tottenham are now said to be plotting to take advantage.

Already in London
Spurs are hopeful of getting a deal done for the central midfielder, who has already been in London this week.
Originally it was thought that Moriba was negotiating a move to Chelsea, who have been heavily linked with him, but it is Tottenham who are now apparently at the front of the queue.
If Spurs were to sign Moriba, who is valued at £17 million, then he could certainly be an appealing addition.
With Pape Sarr’s move to Tottenham now looking likely, Fabio Paratici may have secured deals for his midfield partnership for the next decade.
The two teenagers look like wonderful prospects, and if they can fulfil their potential at Spurs, then Nuno could have a brilliant foundation to build around for the years ahead.
