A report from Tutto Mercato Web claims Tottenham are in pole position to sign Barcelona’s Ilaix Moriba before Tuesday’s deadline, ahead of Chelsea.
Moriba, 18, is regarded as one of Barcelona’s best talents. He has already clocked up 18 senior outings for Barca, having a hand in four goals.
But TMW say he has turned down a new contract at the Nou Camp, rejecting the decision to stay at Barca. Spurs are ready to take advantage.
The report states that while Chelsea and Leipzig are interested, Tottenham are leading the way. Fabio Paratici is currently in talks with Barcelona.
Spurs are showing plenty of intent and the report states there is a genuine belief a deal could be done before Tuesday’s deadline.

Moriba to Tottenham: Another potential Paratici masterstroke
Paratici has already shown his worth. He has brought in Serie A’s best 2020-21 defender in Cristian Romero – initially on loan.
A stunning bit of business that sees Spurs get a Copa America winner for a loan fee initially, paying the rest at a later date.
Bryan Gil looks like a wonderkid and at £21.6million plus Erik Lamela, again, he is a bargain. Pierluigi Gollini is also on loan at Tottenham.
Now, Moriba is in the same category. Given his contract ends in 2022, he could go for a cheap price. ARA Esports say Barca want just £12.75m.
At such a price, Moriba is a bargain for any club and Tottenham will do exceptionally well to lure him to North London. A deal looks likely.
