Tottenham are desperate to sign a new defender and have placed Italian defender Giorgio Scalvini on their list of targets.
Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou wants to bring in a new centre-back as quickly as possible after the injury to Cristian Romero further damaged his squad.
A host of names are being linked with a move as it stands. Radu Dragusin would appear the favourite to sign but Spurs also like the look of Jean-Clair Todibo.
However, according to Sky Sports, Atalanta’s Giorgio Scalvini is also a player of interest to Tottenham.
Tottenham have eyes on Giorgio Scalvini
It’s reported on Sky that Tottenham have a number of names on their list of potential signings for January.
Among them, and in what is quite a new mention, is Scalvini. The Italian youngster is the latest to be doing the business with Atalanta, who have had huge success in selling young players on in recent years.
Tottenham are looking at a number of options as they look to close out a deal for a defender ASAP.

With Romero and Van de Ven both out and a lack of other options, Postecoglou is keen to ensure his team don’t drop too many more points due to defensive issues.
Scalvini would tick boxes for Ange and Spurs, given his age and experience already at a good level.
Described by Football Talent Scout as a ‘complete, elegant, and dominant’, Scalvini would certainly be an eye opening signing for Spurs fans.
Of course, there’d be big pressure on a 20-year-old to come to a new country and adapt quickly to play for Spurs.
But Scalvini has experience already from Serie A and we’ve seen over time how Italy simply breeds top quality defenders.
If the money is right and others do fall by the wayside, then Scalvini would be a smart long-term option for Spurs.
