Tottenham exploring Kyle Walker-Peters deal this summer – journalist

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in bringing Kyle Walker-Peters back to the club this summer, journalist Ben Jacobs has told Give Me Sport.

Walker-Peters is proving to be a wanted man after a fantastic season with Southampton. Obviously, he has impressed whenever he has featured at right-back for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side.

But he has also done well on the opposite flank. And it seems that teams are sitting up and taking real notice of his form.

Reports this week claimed that Arsenal and Manchester United were monitoring the England international. But The Athletic noted that Tottenham had agreed a buy-back clause worth £30 million for the 25-year-old.

And it seems that they could indeed look to take up the option.

Jacobs has suggested that Tottenham are indeed considering a move to bring Walker-Peters back to North London this summer.

“Arsenal are keeping tabs on Walker-Peters, but nothing beyond that at this stage. Tottenham are exploring re-signing Walker-Peters from Southampton,” he told Give Me Sport

“I think whoever lands him will land a tremendous player. He was one of the best right-backs in the Premier League last season.”

Tottenham monitoring Walker-Peters again

Of course, Spurs’ task seems fairly simple if they want Walker-Peters. Based on his form this season, £30 million is a real bargain.

He was ‘outstanding‘ in the Premier League. And that top-flight experience perhaps leaves him with the upper hand over someone like Djed Spence.

Spence, obviously, looks to be Spurs’ top target for that position. But agreeing a fee has proved to be a problem in their pursuit of the youngster.

And there may well be plenty of Tottenham supporters who would now rather see a little more spent to bring Walker-Peters back in this window.
