Tottenham Hotspur could make a move for Brentford striker Ivan Toney this summer, but only if he’s available for the right price.

The Englishman has been linked with a number of top clubs in England in recent months. There is a big chance he will leave Brentford at the end of the season, and Tottenham have him on their wishlist.

Tottenham could try to sign Ivan Toney

Ivan Toney has been on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar for quite some time now.

Spurs decided against signing a replacement for Harry Kane last summer after the Englishman left the club and joined German champions Bayern Munich.

Tottenham have done well without an out-and-out striker, but Ange Postecoglou will want one at some point, and we think this summer will be when he dives into the market.

Reports have revealed that Tottenham will make a move to sign Ivan Toney if the striker’s move to Arsenal ends up collapsing.

GiveMeSport now add to that claim by saying Tottenham could pursue a move for the Brentford striker, but only if “he is deemed gettable and his current employers are willing to cash in for £60million or less” at the end of this season.

Toney, 27, will enter the final year of his contract at Brentford this summer.

Pep Guardiola thinks Ivan Toney is a ‘master’

Ivan Toney has a lot of admirers in football, and Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is one of them. He rates the Englishman very highly.

Guardiola has praised the 27-year-old on plenty of occasions, but he went a step further last month by calling the Brentford striker a ‘master player‘.

Following Manchester City’s win against the Bees in the Premier League, Guardiola told BBC Sport: “They have the ability with Ivan Toney – he’s a master player, a really good player.”

Tottenham are right to target Toney, and we think he would add a whole new dimension to Ange Postecoglou’s attack if Spurs can get him this summer.
