Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has heaped praise on Arsenal target Ivan Toney after facing him last night.
The defending Premier League champions managed to beat Brentford yesterday thanks to a solitary goal from Erling Haaland. Toney started for the Bees, and his performance seems to have impressed Guardiola.

Pep Guardiola says Arsenal target Ivan Toney is a ‘master player’
Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign Ivan Toney for months now.
The England international returned last month after serving his ban, and he has looked really good. He’s a phenomenal player, and Arsenal’s interest hasn’t gone anywhere.
Reports recently have again claimed that Mikel Arteta personally wants to bring Toney to the Emirates in the summer when he will enter the final year of his contract.
That will likely make him a lot more affordable than he was last month, but we won’t be surprised if other clubs join the race to sign him as well.
Pep Guardiola has faced Toney quite a few times already, and after watching him live again last night, he was full of praise for the Brentford striker.
He said after the game, as quoted by BBC Sport: “They have the ability with Ivan Toney – he’s a master player, a really good player.
“Other than that they’re really good at free-kicks, throw-ins and so on.”

Mikel Arteta will have other options in this summer
If Arsenal could afford Ivan Toney last month, they probably would’ve made a move to sign him.
The 27-year-old will likely be available for a cheaper free in the summer, but we can’t say for sure that Arsenal will try to sign him as other top strikers will become available on the market soon.
The Gunners have been linked with the likes of Victor Osimhen, Benjamin Sesko, Dusan Vlahovic and Joshua Zirkzee in recent weeks, and they’re all younger than Toney.
That could make Mikel Arteta decide against going for the Brentford man this summer.
