Tony Cascarino has suggested that he felt that Lucas Paqueta was even better than Mohammed Kudus as West Ham beat Wolves on Sunday.
Mohammed Kudus continues to prove what an impressive signing he is for the Hammers. The 23-year-old has now scored eight goals in 21 games for the club in all competitions.
It was the Ghanaian who scored twice at the London Stadium on Sunday as the Irons beat Gary O’Neil’s side 3-0. Jarrod Bowen did brilliantly to score the third and make the points safe in the second-half.
Tony Cascarino lauds Lucas Paqueta after West Ham win
But perhaps Kudus was not the best player on the pitch. Lucas Paqueta set up all three goals for West Ham.

And Tony Cascarino has suggested to The Times that David Moyes has never had a squad with more quality during his tenure with the Hammers.
“[Kudus] is such a difficult player to defend against because he has that ability to get underneath a defender and then use his upper body strength to get half a yard and shoot. He looks like a great signing and I thought his team-mate Lucas Paquetá was even better against Wolverhampton Wanderers — you can see why Manchester City want to sign him because his skill level is super high,” he said.
“I can’t remember David Moyes having a better West Ham team than this one — and that’s after they lost Declan Rice in the summer. There is a real flair about this team, with Jarrod Bowen playing up front, and they made a good Wolves side look average.”
Hammers now have the quality to kick on
West Ham do deserve real credit for using the sale of Declan Rice to move forward as a squad. Of course, Paqueta was already at the club. But they have since added a number of impressive signings.
West Ham rejected offers for Paqueta in the summer. And that is looking like a masterstroke right now. He is so important to the way the side now play.
It is surely fair to say that his tally of one goal and four assists in the Premier League this season does not come close to doing him justice.
And the longer West Ham are able to keep Paqueta at the London Stadium, the better. He is a sensational player with the ability to change any game he is playing in.
