Newcastle United are set to be without Jacob Ramsey for several important fixtures after Eddie Howe provided an injury update on him.

Newcastle signed Ramsey during the summer transfer window for £43million, but his start to life at St. James’ Park has been anything but ideal.

Ramsey had to be brought off during his full debut for the Magpies against Leeds United, and he has been out of action ever since.

The 24-year-old suffered a foot injury, which stunted the start of his career at Newcastle United. Now, fans know exactly how many games he will miss.

Eddie Howe reveals when Jacob Ramsey will be back for Newcastle United

During his pre-match press conference ahead of Newcastle United’s fixture against Arsenal this weekend, Eddie Howe revealed how Ramsey’s recovery is going.

“I think his recovery is going really well. He’s on the grass working hard, building his fitness back up. The plan I think was it would be the first game back after the international break that’s ahead of us.

“If it’s any earlier than that, then of course he’s ahead of schedule.”

Of course, he’s not the only summer signing who has been out of action in the early stages of his career with Newcastle.

Yoana Wissa has also been out injured lately, which has stretched Howe’s options early in the season, but after an impressive performance from William Osula in midweek, he does have some variety.

Which Newcastle United games will Jacob Ramsey miss?

Given that Ramsey isn’t expected back until after the upcoming international break, he is set to miss three fixtures for Newcastle.

Two of those will be in the Premier League against clubs also pushing for Champions League football in Arsenal and Nottingham Forest.

Meanwhile, Newcastle’s next European fixture against Union Saint-Gilloise will be another he misses, where they will look to get their first points on the board in the league phase of the competition.
