Steve Sidwell has named the manager West Ham United are looking at to replace David Moyes.
The former Chelsea midfielder has claimed that Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Gary O’Neil is on the radar of West Ham.
So, what has Steve Sidwell said about West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Gary O’Neil? Let’s take a look.
Gary O’Neil tipped to replace David Moyes at West Ham United
Well, Steve Sidwell has said that he has been told that West Ham United are looking at Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Gary O’Neil as a potential replacement for David Moyes.
The former Chelsea midfielder has claimed on That Peter Crouch Podcast that he has been told by insiders that West Ham, who won on Thursday, have been impressed by O’Neil, who played for the London club from 2011 until 2013.
Moyes is out of contract at West Ham at the end of the season. O’Neil was appointed the Wolves boss only in August 2023.
This is how the conversation went between Sidwell and former Tottenham Hotspur striker Peter Crouch.

Sidwell: “Big shout out to Gary O’Neil because going in there before the season starts, stamping his authority.”
Crouch: “He looks good, doesn’t he?”
Sidwell: “He looks really good. From my insiders, the horse whisperer, he could be a shoo-in at West Ham!”
Crouch: “I think that’s a great shout, you know.”
Chris Stark said: “Have you heard something?”
Sidwell: “I mean…”
Gary O’Neil doing well at Wolverhampton Wanderers
I am not surprised at all that West Ham United are interested in appointing Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Gary O’Neil as their new manager.
O’Neil is only 40 now and is one of the best young managers out there. The Englishman did a brilliant job at Bournemouth and made sure that the Cherries did not get relegated to the Championship at the end of last season.
I believe that O’Neil was unfortunate to be sacked. Bournemouth have only just started to pick up points consistently.
While not many Wolverhampton Wanderers fans were particularly enthusiastic when he was appointed the first-team manager in August 2023, the fact of the matter is that he has done well at the club, who are interested in signing Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
Wolves are now nine points above the relegation zone. I do not think that they will go down.
