In recent years, Tottenham Hotspur have made quite a name for themselves with regards to signing young prospects and turning them into stars at Spurs.
Pape Matar Sarr is one such example. When Tottenham signed him from Metz in 2021, Jack Pitt-Brooke revealed that other clubs contacted Spurs to congratulate them on the signing.
Destiny Udogie is another such player. In the summer of 2022, Tottenham signed the Italian defender from Udinese for a reported £15million plus add-ons.
Udogie stayed put in Udine for the remainder of the season on loan before linking up with Spurs in the 2023-24 pre-season.

Tottenham star Destiny Udogie is ‘the future of the Italian national team’
Although Udogie wasn’t very well known on these shores in that first year on Tottenham’s books, he was making waves in Italy and earning praise.
Gabriele Cioffi, head coach of Udinese, previously described Udogie as “extraordinary”, while Fabrizio Romano deemed him “the future of the Italian national team”.
Perhaps a tad unsurprisingly, Udogie has been a revelation for Spurs this season, becoming a regular starter for Ange Postecoglou and impressing on the left side of defence.
He has done so well that Tottenham legend Micky Hazard has backed Udogie to become the best Spurs left-back of all time.
Earlier this year, the CIES Football Observatory published a list of the most valuable players in world football, and Udogie made the cut.
They listed the Spurs star’s value as €78.3million (around £67million), ahead of the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Jack Grealish.
Tottenham have well and truly struck gold by signing Udogie. And with his Spurs contract running until 2030, it’ll be exciting to see how he continues to develop at N17.
