Liverpool ended their winless Premier League run by beating Aston Villa, and fans had a clear message for Arne Slot.

After losing to Crystal Palace in midweek, there was some suggestion the Dutchman was under pressure.

However, TBR Football revealed that Liverpool wanted to stick with Arne Slot for the time being, and that the players were happy with him.

While the hierarchy and players backed the manager, Liverpool fans turned on Slot after their Carabao Cup exit.

What Liverpool fans did for Arne Slot vs Aston Villa

Football fans are fickle, though, and the mood at Anfield has quickly shifted to a much more positive tone.

Dominik Szoboszlai earned praise for his starring display and was also awarded the TNT Sports Man of the Match.

Mohamed Salah and Conor Bradley shone as well, while the Liverpool faithful were keen to show their support for Slot during the 2-0 win over Aston Villa.

They could be heard chanting their manager’s name in unison late in the tie, having also done so early in the fixture.

Can Liverpool still be successful under Arne Slot this season

Better late than never, but Liverpool looked back to their best under the Dutchman.

However, they are already out of the Carabao Cup, and Arsenal are running away with the league title.

With 10 games played, the Gunners have opened up a seven-point gap at the summit.

It’s by no means an impossible ask for Liverpool to catch Mikel Arteta’s men, but they must build on this fixture and not revert to unwanted habits in the coming weeks.

Next up is a Champions League meeting with Real Madrid before an away trip to Manchester City next weekend.
