Some Tottenham fans react to Jules Kounde's reported decision
Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted to the news that Jules Kounde has rejected a move to the club.
But Gianluca Di Marzio claimed late last night that the Lilywhites had struck an agreement with the Spanish outfit. It is thought a €30m (£25.6m) plus Davinson Sanchez deal was agreed between the two sides.
The Spanish publication is claiming that Kounde is especially keen on joining a Champions League club. Something Tottenham cannot offer after only qualifying for the Europa Conference League last year.
Tottenham need to be realistic this summer
Tottenham need to be more realistic with who they target during this summer’s window after the news about Kounde.
The north London outfit endured a poor campaign last season, finishing in seventh place. It helped the club qualify for the Europa Conference League, a newly-created third tier of European football.
It is hardly going to attract the best of prospects around the continent such as Kounde. Most of the massive clubs seem to be chasing the ace, making Champions League football a must in securing his signature.
Here is how some Tottenham fans reacted to Kounde’s alleged snub…
That story lasted long 😂. We can’t compete with players linked to Man Utd, real, Juve, etc. Need to be realistic now that we’ve thrown away all the great work Poch did to make us a team players like this would have chosen. Sad but true now.— gavin (@gavinspurs) July 14, 2021

And there it is. Always would've been down to personal terms. The guy was never going to open talks. CL to conference was never going to happen for a young ambitious player to not play at the level he's at now with Seville. This was said weeks ago.— Jeremy (@Jeremy67180864) July 14, 2021

Ouch 🤣 That Champions League final was 2019 btw. It's 2021 and we're firmly in the mud.— ap (@otheranthony) July 14, 2021
Bye then. 🙄— Jide (@JideHowardChase) July 14, 2021
