Romeo Lavia thinks Chelsea have a player who is a ’10/10′ footballer and pundits agree

Chelsea defeated Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday evening, and Blues midfielder Romeo Lavia was left highly impressed with a flawless individual performance.

Enzo Maresca’s side overcame the champions at Stamford Bridge in the late kick-off, thanks to a remarkable strike from Moises Caicedo and a late winner from Estevao.

Chelsea were the more dominant side throughout, and despite Liverpool’s squad of superstars, the Blues emerged victorious on the back of several standout displays.

Chief among them was Caicedo, who ran Arne Slot’s midfield off the park – something Romeo Lavia and many others were quick to recognise.

Caicedo took to Instagram after the win, sending the following message to Chelsea supporters: “Important win at the Bridge. Proud of the team and happy with the goal. Enjoy the week, Blues.”

His comment section quickly filled with praise from fans and teammates alike. Most notably, Lavia responded with “10/10,” while Andrey Santos added: “What a finish.”

Caicedo also received plaudits from pundits. Jamie Redknapp told TNT Sports:

“Normally a number 6 doesn’t have this quality. But that is a rocket. [Giorgi] Mamardashvili has no chance. Caicedo didn’t settle instantly and it’s taken time for him to adjust to what Chelsea want. You talk about him, Rodri, Gravenberch – those three are as good as anything in world football.

“He possesses so many good attributes. When he hasn’t got the ball he’s incredible, he’s so hard to play against. He can pass the ball, he plays round the corner.

“There’s nothing he can’t do, there’s not a weakness in his game. Everything I hear about him, he’s a top-quality guy. No doubt about it, he’s a world-class player.”

Gary Neville hails Caicedo as Premier League’s best

Gary Neville also heaped praise on Chelsea’s £100m man, declaring him the best midfielder in the Premier League – ahead of Arsenal’s Declan Rice and Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch.

“He’s the best midfield player in the league at this moment in time. And I think I’m comfortable saying that. Gravenberch last season, and maybe Declan Rice and Rodri obviously, for the last few years,” Neville begins.

“But now, I think at this time, we can say that Caicedo is the best midfield player in the league, and he’s performing like that.”

At just 23 years old, Caicedo has become integral to Maresca’s side and a driving force behind Chelsea’s successes since his move from Brighton & Hove Albion.
