'Spurs want different players': Romano says Paratici has walked away from 'wonderful' Serie A star
Tottenham might be being linked with a host of different players this summer, but one player they won’t be signing is Paulo Dybala.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano anyway, who has taken to his social media today to suggest that Spurs have moved on from the Argentinian forward and that, in reality, he was never considered a major target anyway.
Dybala is free to leave Juventus this summer after a trophy and goal-laden spell in Turin. A host of clubs are said to be keen, with Tottenham mentioned more than once over the past few weeks. Arsenal, too, are also said to have held tentative discussions about signing the former Palermo man.
But according to Romano, a move to Tottenham is off the cards and Fabio Paratici is looking at other players as he looks to give Antonio Conte the tools he needs to compete next season.
The ‘wonderful‘ Dybala is a player that a lot of Tottenham fans would have liked to have seen in north London.
However, there will be other players coming in, so Spurs supporters won’t have to wait long to see the next new signing you feel. The club have already signed Ivan Perisic in a sign of their intent ahead of the summer.
TBR’s View: Tottenham Can Move On From Dybala…Finally
Well, that’s that then, isn’t it? Of course, you never know in football, but it would appear that Dybala and Tottenham is a no-go, given Romano’s comments here.
And while it’s not ideal for Spurs to miss out on such a talent, it does mean they can focus on others now. Paratici will have a long list of players he fancies signing, so Dybala being scrubbed off is just part of the process.
Tottenham will be busy this summer regardless. New players will come, albeit, not Dybala.
