Report: Dybala has ruled out joining Tottenham this summer

Paulo Dybala has ruled out joining Tottenham Hotspur this summer as he edges closer to a decision on his future, according to a report from Spanish outlet AS.

Dybala is set to become a free agent after an amazing spell with Juventus. In almost 300 appearances for the Old Lady, he has scored 115 goals and contributed 48 assists.

Unsurprisingly, many clubs want him. AS names Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Roma, Inter Milan, PSG and Manchester United as admirers of the Argentinian. But they also add that Fabio Paratici wants to take him to Tottenham.

However, Spurs face missing out. AS adds that Dybala has now ruled out moving to Tottenham. However, no reason has been given for his decision.

Dybala has ruled out joining Tottenham

It is a surprise that Dybala is not open to joining Tottenham. It appears to be a hugely exciting time to join Antonio Conte’s squad.

Conte looks set to guide Tottenham to the Champions League next year. They only need a point on the final day of the season away at Norwich to guarantee fourth spot.

Obviously, any attacker faces a tough task joining Spurs. Harry Kane is playing as well as he ever has. And a new striker may not play as much as they would like.

But Dybala is at his best when he is playing with another striker.

Neither Roma or Manchester United will be playing in the Champions League next year. So both appear to be underdogs too. Obviously, moving to the Giallorossi would allow Dybala to stay in Italy.

It will disappoint Tottenham that Dybala does not want to join. He is someone Mauricio Pochettino described as ‘special‘ previously. And getting him on a free transfer would have been a real statement.
