Romano hints Real could decide to sell Arsenal target Odegaard - on one condition
Fabrizio Romano has suggested on Twitter that Arsenal target Martin Odegaard could be sold this summer – should Real Madrid decide to keep another of Mikel Arteta’s targets.
Odegaard’s future looked to be resolved following Carlo Ancelotti’s appointment as Zinedine Zidane’s replacement at the Bernabeu.
The Norwegian had struggled to convince Zidane during his tenures. Ancelotti meanwhile, used the 22-year-old in pre-season off the back of his impressive spell with Arsenal.
Unsurprisingly, the Gunners have been keen to bring the attacking midfielder back to the Emirates. But it did seem that their hopes had been dashed.
However, the situation seems to be a little more up in the air.
It was reported in Spain this week that Ancelotti called Odegaard into his office to discuss his future amid reports he is open to returning to North London.
And despite telling the youngster he does not want him to leave, Odegaard reportedly still has doubts about staying.
Interestingly, that report noted that Ancelotti could not guarantee Odegaard a starting spot next season.
And that could be crucial – judging by a tweet from Romano on the situation.
The journalist hinted that Madrid’s decision on whether to keep Odegaard or not could come down to whether they hold onto Isco…
it’s up to Real Madrid more than to Ødegaard… if they keep Isco, they could decide to sell Martin. Let’s see. Nothing decided yet

Arsenal target Isco set to hand Arteta a big boost in Odegaard pursuit?
Odegaard appears to be a key target for Arsenal. But he is not the only Real player Edu has looked at.
They have reportedly registered an interest in Isco. He is also a target for Spurs and AC Milan.
The reports attracted a negative reaction amongst Arsenal fans on social media. But perhaps Isco may be about to make himself a lot more popular with Gunners fans.
Romano has hinted that Isco staying may make a move for Odegaard more likely.
So Arsenal may need to bide their time. But it will be worth it if they ultimately land Odegaard.
