Report: 'Incredible' £42m man Conte dreams of signing for Spurs is now available; Newcastle have already bid

Nicolo Zaniolo is a name that gets a mention quite often during transfer windows, with Tottenham the latest club said to be keen on the Italian.

As reported on TBR before, it’s claimed Spurs are high on Zaniolo, with Antonio Conte said to consider the midfielder as his ‘dream signing’ for the Tottenham midfield. Of course, Zaniolo has been key for Roma and up to now, there’s been little chance of a sale.

However, according to Sky Italy today (via GFNI) the Rome club have actually made Zaniolo available for transfer and have even rejected a bid from Spurs’ Premier League rivals, Newcastle United. The midfielder is said to be worth over £40m at least to Roma, who will want their monies worth if they do sell.

Zaniolo, who has been dubbed as an ‘incredible’ talent, has been watched by Liverpool in the past. Indeed, if he is now available, it will be interesting to see if Jurgen Klopp makes his move for the Italian star. Spurs, meanwhile, will no doubt be going all out given their own huge transfer splurge this summer.

TBR’s View: Tottenham Can Win Something With Zaniolo Signed

The signing of Ivan Perisic was a good one but if Tottenham can bring a player like Nicolo Zaniolo in, then the sky is the limit for this Spurs side.

Zaniolo is a quality operator and while there have been some Italian players who have flopped in England – think Alberto Aquilani – Zaniolo does seem to have that air of confidence and class about him.

Obviously, Roma will want good money. But if it is around that £40-50m mark being mentioned, then Tottenham would be daft not to try. Giving Conte players like this is a no-brainer, and Spurs could genuinely win something with Zaniolo and more on board.
