Roberto De Zerbi is reportedly keen on signing a £25m-rated player who Liverpool have recently made contact with.
The former Brighton & Hove Albion manager made the surprise choice this summer to swap the English south coast with Olympique Marseille, with De Zerbi already given the keys to the castle for the French giants.
A slew of big-money signings have already been made, with work now ongoing to bring in Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah, who according to reports is open to linking up with De Zerbi and moving to Marseille to further his career.
And the Ligue 1 side are now interested in signing a player who is on Liverpool’s radar.

Marseille join Liverpool in race to sign Juventus youngster Dean Huijsen
According to CalcioMercato, Marseille are interested in signing Juventus defender Dean Huijsen, who we at TBR exclusively revealed earlier this week has been approached by Liverpool, as well as AFC Bournemouth and Newcastle United.
Valued at £25m, the Dutch youngster impressed out on loan at AS Roma last season, with Juventus open to selling Huijsen as a means to raise funds as Thiago Motta looks to build his squad to challenge for the Serie A title.
With Liverpool already making their move to sign Huijsen, Marseille’s interest in the defender has come at less than ideal time for the Reds, who have made it clear this summer that they want to bring in a young centre-back to replace Joel Matip.
Indeed, Huijsen could still favour a move to Liverpool given the immense stature of the Anfield side, but with playing time more likely in France with Marseille, Arne Slot might be about to run into some trouble in his pursuit for the defender.

Liverpool can’t let Huijsen slip through their fingers this summer
Huijsen is emerging as one of the most-sought after talents in Europe this summer, with many Premier League teams chasing the Dutchman with Marseille now in the mix to sign the 19-year-old.
And for Liverpool, they simply can’t let Huijsen slip through their fingers with multiple clubs eyeing the Juventus talent, with the teenager exactly what the Reds are looking for in a summer signing.
At £25m, Huijsen could represent good money in the transfer market if Liverpool are first off the line to secure the defender’s signature, and the centre-back will be in the best environment to grow and develop on Merseyside.
