Everybody should know by now that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta wants Dusan Vlahovic at the Emirates this month having already bid for him.

The Gunners need a new striker after everything that has gone on with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gabon star is no longer in Arteta’s plans and he has to be replaced.

Vlahovic is the Gunners’ number one target and reports have even revealed that they have tabled a bid close to £60 million for him.

There’s no other club pushing as hard as Arsenal to sign Vlahovic in this month’s window, but does the Serbian really want to switch Florence for North London?

What Vlahovic has told close friends after Arsenal bid £60m for him

Vlahovic is undoubtedly the most sought-out player in world football in this window. Multiple clubs would love to sign him, but it looks like Arsenal are the ones leading the race for him.

However, Vlahovic has told his close friends that he would much rather stay in Italy than move to the Premier League.

That’s according to Football London, who claim that the Serbian is keen on a move to either Juventus or Inter Milan when he leaves Fiorentina. The ideal scenario for that would be at the end of this season.

That is a huge blow for Arsenal.

Arsenal always had a difficult task on their hands considering that Vlahovic and his agents weren’t ever keen to talk to them.

The Gunners seem close to agreeing a deal with Fiorentina, but the second part is proving to be a real problem.

Arteta’s convincing skills have been really good since he took charge of Arsenal. He has convinced the likes of Martinelli, Saka, Smith Rowe and Aubameyang to extend their contracts, while also making stars like Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard say yes to a move to the Emirates.

The Gunners boss has certainly proved that he can convince anyone if he can get on the phone with them, but Vlahovic, who reportedly has his heart set on a move elsewhere, may just prove to be too difficult to persuade in the coming days.
