Liverpool qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League yesterday with a fantastic 3-0 win over Ajax.
The hosts took the game to Jurgen Klopp’s side in the first half and missed some glaring chances.
Nunez was unmarked at the back post when Roberto Firmino played an incredibly unselfish pass into his path.

Ajax goalkeeper Remko Pasveer was stranded in no man’s land, and Nunez simply had to score.
Instead, he struck the post before the ball went wide, much to the dismay of his teammates.
He made amends minutes after the break, powering home a header from an Andy Robertson corner.
Henderson said to Nunez to stay positive at half-time
After the match, Robertson shared what he said to Nunez at half-time: “Darwin was in at half-time really angry at himself and disappointed for missing that chance.
“I sat next to him in the changing room, and I don’t know if he understood a word I said, but I said, ‘I’ll put a cross on your head and you’ll score, no problem’ – maybe we need to say that more often!”
Klopp brought off Nunez just after the hour mark, with the Uruguayan still recovering from a knock.
Nunez has been one of the most talked about players in Liverpool’s squad after a stuttering start to the season.

He scored in his first two appearances for Liverpool against Manchester City and Fulham, before being stupidly sent off against Crystal Palace.
Virgil van Dijk has been really impressed with Nunez so far, suggesting that he has ‘so much potential’.
Nunez now has six goals in all competitions, and certainly creates plenty of opportunities for himself.
What Henderson said at half-time to Nunez yesterday might need to become a regular occurrence after his fantastic response.
