West Ham United may have just been handed a huge boost in their hunt for a striker, with Sky Italia reporting that Sassuolo have cut their asking price for Gianluca Scamacca.
This week, Sky Sports News reported that the Hammers are in talks with the Italian club to sign Scamacca this summer and are prepared to offer more than £34 million for him.
Alfredo Paduella also reported last week that the 23-year-old is willing to say ‘yes’ to joining David Moyes’ side.
And now, the Hammers might be getting closer to signing the ‘fearless’ Scamacca as his price tag has reportedly been cut by Sassuolo.

West Ham getting closer to Scamacca
Sky Italia reports that West Ham have upped their bid for Scamacca to around £29.7 million while Sassuolo have cut their asking price.
The Italian club initially wanted around £42.5 million for the Italian but have now lowered their demands by roughly £4 million.
The report states that negotiations are ‘getting closer’ despite the club’s still being apart on their valuation of the player.

Scamacca was one of the standout strikers in Serie A last season as he finished as the sixth highest goalscorer in the league. The Italy international netted 16 goals in 36 games and was even handed his debut for his national team under Roberto Mancini last September.
The Sassoulo man isn’t the only striker that the Hammers are reportedly closing in on signing, with Fabrizio Romano stating that West Ham are pushing to sign Chelsea’s Armando Broja.
After missing out on former Manchester United man Jesse Lingard last night as he joined Nottingham Forest, Hammers fans could get some good news soon regarding their hunt for a new striker.
Moyes is clearly looking for additional options to Michail Antonio to play up-front in his side. The Scotsman was left a bit short in the striking department last season and often had to use Jarrod Bowen in the position when Antonio wasn’t available.
If West Ham could pull off both deals for Scamacca and Broja, Moyes certainly wouldn’t be short of options then. But it remains to be seen whether the club are prepared to bring both players to East London.
