Report: Victor Orta spoke to Raphinha after Leeds draw with Brighton
Victor Orta spoke to Raphinha while the Leeds United star was sat against the post in the wake of their dramatic draw with Brighton on Sunday, according to a report from The Athletic.
Leeds fans are aware that this weekend could well be the final time Raphinha plays for the club. Jesse Marsch’s men are just outside of the relegation zone in the Premier League. But their fate is no longer in their own hands.
And with that, the 1-1 draw with Brighton felt particularly poignant for a couple of players. Certainly, it is likely to be the last home appearance for several should Leeds fail to keep themselves up.
Kalvin Phillips was reportedly emotional as he applauded the fans. And Raphinha took a place up against the post to take in the Elland Road scene for possibly one final time as a Leeds player.
The Brazilian has been linked with Barcelona. In fact, previous reports have claimed that he has already agreed a five-year contract with the Catalan giants ahead of the summer.
He is one player who may well leave even if Leeds keep themselves up this season. And plenty of fans will look at the moment he sat against the post as Raphinha saying goodbye to his current home.
Phillips went up to have an embrace with the 25-year-old. But The Athletic also suggests that Orta was seen talking with Raphinha.

Raphinha’s move to Leeds has worked out brilliantly for all parties. Remarkably, he only cost £17 million. And, if Leeds stay up, the Whites could make a huge profit on him when they do sell him.
Raphinha featuring in the Premier League has been a game-changer for him also. He is now a Brazil international with some of the best teams in the world chasing his signature.
Leeds fans have always been realistic about the likelihood of keeping Raphinha. And he will likely leave with their blessing in the summer.
But they will be desperate for one final moment of magic from their ‘fantastic‘ talisman before he possibly departs.
