According to Spanish outlet La Razon, Valencia want to re-sign Tottenham Hotspur attacker Bryan Gil in January, and the player is keen on the move too.
The 21-year-old joined Spurs from Sevilla for £21 million-plus-Erik Lamela (Sky Sports) in the summer of 2021 – when Nuno Espirito Santo was at the helm. He was viewed by many as the next big thing, but the youngster is nowhere near the top of Antonio Conte’s pecking order.
That makes a move away in January likely and Valencia are reportedly keen.

Valencia want to re-sign Bryan Gil from Tottenham
Gil spent the second half of last season on loan at Valencia. He played 17 times for them in all competitions and although he didn’t score a goal, he thoroughly impressed everyone at the club.
Valencia were really keen to sign Gil on loan again in the summer. A deal even looked imminent at one point, but Spurs changed their mind late in the window. The 21-year-old wasn’t too happy then, but there was nothing he could do.
Conte has just used him once since – for 12 minutes against Eintracht Frankfurt this week. That’s not enough at all for a player of Gil’s potential at this stage of his career, which is why he wants to explore his options.
The report claims that Valencia will enter negotiations with Tottenham again to sign Gil in the January transfer window. It has also been claimed that the winger is ‘crazy’ about returning to the Mestalla, which makes it likely that this deal will go through next year.
The report, however, does not specify if Valencia are eyeing another loan deal or a permanent one.

TBR View:
Gil’s time at Tottenham has been an awful one so far.
It’s clear as day that Conte does not believe in him enough to hand him regular starts. It’s very rare that he gets off the bench as well, which is clearly hampering his development.
Another loan move in January makes a lot of sense for all parties as Gil needs to play regularly to fulfil his potential. At Tottenham, he simply will not get that chance any time soon.
With both Valencia and Gil keen on a move, this should be a straightforward deal to complete in January.
