Valencia boss Gennaro Gattuso has dropped a major hint over Tottenham Hotspur signing a replacement for Bryan Gil, according to journalist Matteo Moretto.
Reports suggest that Gil is closing in on a return to Valencia after enjoying a successful loan spell there during the second half of last season.
The 21-year-old has struggled to break into Antonio Conte’s side since making the switch from Sevilla last summer.
And now it seems that the Spaniard could be heading back to Los Che, but only once Spurs have signed a replacement.
Now at a press conference, Gattuso has dropped a major hint that Spurs could actually be close to securing a new summer signing.

Gattuso drops major Spurs hint
The Italian boss was speaking at a press conference and said his side are waiting for Tottenham to make a signing before a deal for Gil can be completed.
Gattuso said: “This. We are waiting for Tottenham to find a replacement. They have told us that 99 percent is.”
Reports have suggested that Spurs are eager to sign a replacement before allowing the Spaniard to leave this summer.
And it seems that the move could be a lot closer than expected. Spurs have been linked with a host of attacking players in recent weeks as Gil looks to be heading towards the exit door.
Conte’s men have reportedly shown interest in Atalanta’s Ruslan Malinovskyi and the player is apparently open to moving to North London this summer.
Tottenham have also been linked with a move for Leeds United winger Daniel James over the past week but nothing seems to have advanced as of yet.

It remains unclear who Spurs will prioritise to replace Gil if he does complete a loan move back to Valencia.
But Gattuso seems confident that Spurs have lined up a replacement. And the news will certainly excite Tottenham fans as we head into the final days of the summer window.
