Report: Tottenham still interested in Dybala as Inter delay completing deal
Tottenham Hotspur are lurking in the background and still interested in signing Paulo Dybala, with Tuttomercatoweb reporting that Inter Milan have delayed completing a deal for the forward.
Dybala looked set to become an Inter player for some time. He is a free agent following the expiration of his deal with Juventus. And with that, a host of European heavyweights were keen on a move.
There have been varying reports about Spurs’ interest. There have been suggestions Tottenham could lead the race. Meanwhile, others have claimed that Fabio Paratici is not that keen on bringing the Argentinian to North London.
That speculation appeared to be put to bed with Dybala closing in on a move to Inter. Tuttomercatoweb reports that the Nerazzurri remain his first-choice.
However, there appears to have been a late twist.
There is still an expectation that Dybala will move to San Siro. But Inter have delayed finalising a deal and have asked for time. In fact, a decision on his future is not expected for 10 to 15 days.
Roma have expressed their interest in taking Dybala from Inter’s grasp. Meanwhile, Tuttomercatoweb reports that Tottenham are still keen and awaiting an update on what is going on.
Tottenham still interested in Dybala
You would imagine that the delay concerning Inter centres around their pursuit of Romelu Lukaku. So it will be interesting to see what happens should the Belgian return to Italy this summer.
Signing Dybala would still not be easy for Tottenham. He clearly enjoys playing in Italy.
But he is a ‘special‘ player. And Spurs may feel even more determined to sign him after potentially getting a second chance.
Of course, there are potential positives for Tottenham whatever happens with Dybala. If he completes his Inter move, and is joined by Lukaku, questions will surely be asked about what the future holds for Lautaro Martinez.
