Report: Tottenham ready to rival Arsenal for Ruben Neves deal
Tottenham Hotspur are ready to rival Arsenal for the signature of Ruben Neves, with 90min reporting that the midfielder is keen to leave Wolves this summer.
Neves has been outstanding throughout his time at Molineux. Despite only turning 25 last month, he has already passed 300 appearances in his career.
He has barely missed a game during his time with Wolves. And his form has been ‘sensational‘ this season. Unfortunately for Bruno Lage, it would appear that he may not be at the club much longer.
According to 90min, Neves is now ready to leave Wolves. And the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal want the Portugal international. There is also interest from Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
Reports on Wednesday suggested that Arsenal and Barca were the only sides to confirm their interest in the £60 million-rated Neves. But it seems that Antonio Conte may look to get involved in the race.
Signing Ruben Neves may open door for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to leave Tottenham
Tottenham absolutely need to strengthen in midfield this summer. They have a lot of quality, but they probably do not have the depth that Conte would like.
And yet, it appears that they could be offered the chance to move more players on. Reports this week claimed that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is wanted by Newcastle.
Tottenham are apparently open to letting him leave. However, they are looking for the right fee, and they want to be able to sign a replacement.
Hojbjerg seems to be a divisive figure amongst some of the Tottenham fans. So selling the Dane and replacing him with Neves would go down extremely well with many.
Boasting a midfield trio of Neves, Oliver Skipp and Rodrigo Bentancur could be seriously exciting next season.
It would also see Spurs seemingly deny their bitter rivals one of their own transfer targets this summer.
